Thanks for this wonderful post. I am even more excited to go to Nazaré, hopefully when the waves are high. But, frankly, anytime would be good for me. I love a good beach town! And congratulations on purchasing one of Marco’s gorgeous gulls! It is beautiful.

I think you'd love Nazaré like we did. As I stated in the post, there's so much more to this town than the big waves and surfing. There's also nearby Caldas da Rainha to the east, and Obidos and Peniche to the south. They are all worth visiting too. Yes! Mario's art is fascination! Thanks for reading and commenting!

The cities are duly noted and added to the list. You are most welcome! I look forward to your posts and today was the perfect unhurried day to read your latest piece.

The thing is, there are so many worthwhile cities to visit here in Portugal. We're scratching the surface here. The places that we just talked about, including Our city of Setúbal, are close enough to central Portugal, namely Lisbon, to concentrate a short visit. The northern cities have a different feel to them, but are just as worthy to visit.

Understood. We have been living in Lisbon for almost two months and getting to know the city has been very rewarding. We haven’t gone to other parts of the country, but in time we shall. Including Setúbal.

Clyde- you are a master storyteller! I so loved how you kept us in suspense along your journey with the seagull; with the statue and with the artist. Thank you for capturing wonderful photos that help illustrate your story! I was captivated and I’ve met Mario-- the seagull, that is.

I'm so touched as always that you read and pick up on the details of my blogs. I'm also glad that you were able to meet Mario the seagull. It's really true about taking chances and walking through doors and finding delightful surprises. If we didn't do that, we wouldn't be together in Setúbal would we? Thanks Joy. We love hanging out with you and Robin!

Did you manage to visit the church and museum in Sítio? The stories of the fishermen and women's costumes are fascinating, especially the men's hats and the women's seven petticoats.

Gosh, there is always so much to see isn't there? Unfortunately we haven't visited the church and museum in the Sítio yet, but we'll be back up there one of these days to see more of the sights. We were preoccupied on this particular trip to do everything we wanted. We had a seagull to adopt. Thanks for reading and commenting. See you soon.

Adrienne! Thanks for sharing the adventures with me. Glad you like the blogs. Initially, I was going to post a blog each month. I'm still going to write them but the blogs are dependent upon travels and participating in life here. Without that I'd have nothing to write about. I've got more experiences that I wwill hopefully be sharing soon. Thanks for taking time out to say hello. I love that!

All the best, Adrienne.
